Аналіз інноваційної технології навчання авіаційної англійської мови «Climb Level 4»

Abstract

У статті проаналізовано інноваційну інформаційно-комунікативну технологію з формування англомовної компетенції майбутніх авіаційних фахівців «Climb Level 4». Визначено актуальність та необхідність використання ІКТ в умовах сучасного освітнього процесу льотних ЗВО. Окреслено структуру мультимедійного онлайн курсу «Climb Level 4», яка охоплює: вхідне та вихідне тестування; вправи на розвиток граматичної, лексичної компетентності, слухання, швидкості говоріння та взаємодію; словник; граматичний довідник. Курс забезпечено спеціальними засобами розпізнавання та відтворення мовлення, адаптування та індивідуального редагування, здійснення комунікації серед учасників. The article analyzes an innovative information and communication technology "Climb Level 4" for the formation of English-language competence of future aviation specialists. The relevance and necessity of using ICT in the modern educational process at Aviation Higher Schools has been determined. The structure of the multimedia online course "Climb Level 4" has been outlined. The course is designed to enable ATCOs and pilots to meet the ICAO language proficiency requirements through independent study. Using the latest techniques in Speech Recognition technology "Climb Level 4" covers all 6 of the language skills required to achieve ICAO level 4 and above. This innovative solution is most suitable for pilots, controllers and aviation students whose level of English is presently ICAO level 3 or 4 and who wish to improve to

level ICAO 4 or 5. All the exercises and reference materials in "Climb Level 4" are aviation- related. The course includes: input and output testing; interactive exercises: text-based exercises,

image-based exercises, audio-based exercises and of course, speech-based exercises for the development of grammatical and lexical competence, tasks for listening comprehension, speech fluency and interactions; a dictionary and a grammar guide. The curriculum is organised into 9 Modules: Time, Duration, Schedules and Fuel, Health, People, Weather, Technology, Aerodromes, Cargo, Materials and Fire, Communication, Navigation, Movement and Geography. Each module contains language that Eurocontrol has identified as critical in pilot-controller communication (ICAO document 9835 "Manual on the Implementation of the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements) and consists of 3 units which contain grammar exercises, vocabulary exercises, listening exercises and fluency / interactions exercises. "Climb Level 4” is provided with special means of speech recognition and reproduction, adaptation and individual editing and communication among participants.
