Ситуативні методи вивчення іноземної мови у закладах вищої освіти не гуманітарного профілю

Abstract

У статті зроблено спробу систематизувати та частково проаналізувати інтерактивні методики вивчення іноземної мови. Розглянуто ряд найбільш популярних методів ситуативного навчання на заняттях з англійської мови у вищих навчальних закладах технічного спрямування. Приводяться іх приклади та аналізуються основні передумови їх проведення. Розглядаються основні принципи методу ситуативного навчання, які здатні мобілізувати навчальний процес. Досліджуються засоби та форми навчання, які впливають на формування та розвиток професійних навичок студентів у процесі вивчення іноземної мови. The article analyses the peculiarities of foreign language teaching situational method application in higher educational establishments of a non-humanitarian profile. The peculiarities of using other teaching methods at the English language lessons are considered, the examples of these methods use are given and the ways of their application are analyzed. The main principles, capable of perfecting modern educational process are considered. The training ways and forms are investigated, which affect the formation and development of the students’ communicative skills. The arguments have been given as to the situational methods, which are able to be both integrated and be used alongside usual (traditional) elements of a foreign / English language teaching. Such a methodology presupposes the student’s maximum immersion into the lingual proceedings. The aim of the given methodology is to teach student first to speak fluent English and then to think English. The no less important is the fact that there are no mechanical reproductive exercises. They are substituted by the game situations, cooperation with the partner. Such exercises are aimed at the search of errors, their analyzing. This promotes the memory stimulation, develops logical, analytical, creative thinking. The peculiarities of a foreign language situational study methods in the technical higher educational establishments are outlined. The stress is made on the fact that the given method is efficient if the teacher has a high professional level, is able to organize a training process and adapt the students, on condition of a responsible material-technical maintenance. It is mentioned that the process of a foreign/English language study envisions communication, as it makes it possible to pass from considering English as an object of study to its practical use. It is stressed that the new, non-traditional methods of studying a foreign language stimulate the students to be linguistically active, which alone makes them attractive and stresses their priority. The situational methodology of studying foreign languages is conducive to accelerate a foreign language speaking process and then a foreign language thinking one. It is suitable for conducting the lessons and not only them, that is, it can be used both for lecture room work and for extracurricular measures. The conclusion has been made that nowadays the situational methodology is one of the most efficient ways of studying foreign languages.
