Використання методу проектів на уроках англійської мови для формування мовленнєвої компетентності майбутніх авіаційних фахівців

Abstract

Стаття розглядає метод проектів як один із ефективних методів навчання професійно-орієнтованої англійської мови майбутніх авіафахівців різних етапів підготовки та спеціальностей. Метод проектів розглядається як спосіб формування мовленнєвої компетентності курсантів, поглиблення професійних знань та мотивації курсантів до навчання. Professional training of future pilots as well as of other aviation specialist requires special attention to their speech competence as an indispensible part of their future professional activity. The appropriate level of speech competence of every aviation specialist is a vital condition of aviation safety and safety of lives of millions of people. That is why the process of teaching aviation English of the future aviation specialist demands the most effective methods and technologies. This article deals with the project technology as an effective interactive method for teaching foreign languages of the future aviation specialists. The project technology is considered here as a means of forming speech competence of the future aviation specialists within the training process. Project technology is considered as an effective means of motivating cadets, development of their professional knowledge and skills. This is one of the most effective means of integrating the cadets’ knowledge in other professional subjects into the classes of the foreign language. Future aviation specialists develop their knowledge of professional terminology in English; practice their public speaking on the one hand and train listening comprehension of the professional texts on the other hand. This is also a means of improving their interactive and searching skills, their ability to get information from various sources. The article also describes the position of the project technology among other teaching technologies throughout the history of pedagogics. There is a description of stages of a project as a means of teaching future aviation specialists and there are peculiarities of the project technology and its use defined in the article. There are also some practical examples as to how this technology can be used for training the cadets of different years of studies with the specific topics suggested. The authors of the article suggest the project technology as an effective means of teaching aviation terminology and forming general language skills at the English classes within the process of training future aviation specialists. And insist that it can be used at the various stages of training with various topics. Thus, project technology was proven to be an effective method of teaching professional English at the classes of English and as a task for cadets’ independent work.
