The possibilities of using the elements of STEM-education in teaching the discipline mathematical modeling of professional problems in an aviation college are demonstrated. Such an approach to the educational process will allow the integration of modern information technologies with advanced teaching methods. With the help of mathematical modeling, the solution of a scientific and technical problem is reduced to solving a mathematical problem, which is its model. This allows you to develop and develop the ability to dismember the process of solving a problem situation into logically complete and clearly distinguished fragments. In addition, examples are given in which the interaction of science, technology, engineering art and mathematics is carried out. The STEM-oriented approach to learning contributes to the popularization of engineering and technology professions among young people. STEM promotes awareness among young people about career opportunities in engineering and technology. STEM contributes to the formation of a stable internal motivation of students to study fundamental disciplines by establishing a stable link between the acquired knowledge on natural sciences and mathematical disciplines and their direct application in future professional activities. The study shows the role of STEM-technologies in the theoretical training of civilian cadets pilots. Using STEM technology, you will be able to successfully develop the problem of low motivation to work in educational and cognitive activities, by creating creative support for theoretical activities, as well as use the latest information technologies. The decision of such tasks should adapt cadets to the rapid development of modern science and technology, dictate new approaches to the training of specialists in higher aviation educational institutions. At the moment, competence involves not only the high level of knowledge, but also the ability to quickly master new ones, be able to apply this new for practical tasks. The basis of education should be not so much the educational discipline, but the ways of thinking and activity. It is necessary not only to issue a specialist who has received a high level training, but also to include it at the stage of training in the development of new technologies, to adapt to the conditions of a particular production environment.
