ICAO. Meteorological conditions influence significantly on the safety, efficiency and regularity of flights along the route. Therefore, it is important for air traffic controllers to have sufficient knowledge and skills in accordance to understand and use meteorological information correctly and quickly. The purpose of the article is to determine the meteorological readiness of cadets in the system of professional training of air traffic controllers. It is determined, that "meteorological training" is a purposeful process of future aviation specialists meteorological readiness forming to perform the complex specific tasks at the high professional level. "Meteorological readiness" it is cadets readiness to interpret meteorological information correctly, to evaluate meteorological situation quickly and to make right decisions about actions in non-standard situations. The article describes the components of meteorological readiness in details, such as: motivational, theoretical and practical. The knowledge levels of future air traffic controllers, as recommended by ICAO documents, are presented in the article. It is determined that theoretical training in the higher aviation educational institution must coincides to no less of the third level of knowledge as defined by ICAO documents. The cadets must have deep knowledge in the subject and can apply it quickly and exactly. The practical meteorological readiness forms at the fourth level of knowledge. It is noted that meteorological readiness of cadets must be measured corresponding to the knowledge levels and represented as an objective mark or score. The evaluation of meteorological readiness of cadets at the end of the aviation meteorology course is done by author's standardized computer tests. The systematic assessment of cadets' academic achievements by computer testing promotes to more effectively learning the "Aviation Meteorology" course and provides an opportunity to evaluate objectively the practical and theoretical meteorological readiness of cadets. Thus it is proved that meteorological readiness of cadets is not limited to one of its components, but it is a system. The all components of this system are interrelated, interdependent and equally important for the future professional activity of the air traffic controllers.
