Abstract: У статті розглядається поняття симетрії, що покладено в основу сучасних фізичних теорій. Симетрія виявляє взаємозв ́язок фізичних законів, спрощує розуміння складних процесів, що протікають у мікросвіті та розглядаються в фізиці. В статті простежено вплив поняття симетрії на формування наукового світогляду суб`єктів навчання в умовах розвитку STEM-освіти, а також на їхню самостійну пізнавально-пошукову діяльність у вищих навчальних закладах технічного профілю. The article deals with the concept of symmetry, which is the basis of modern physical theories. Symmetry reveals the interconnection of physical laws, simplifies understanding of complex processes occurring in the microcosm and is considered in physics. Considering the professional training of students of the Kirovohrad Aircraft Academy of the National Aviation University as a training system, we note that the theoretical training of operators of complex control systems becomes of great importance. The basic foundation of professional disciplines is the general course of physics, which is studied by students in the first year and provides a solid basis for successful training, the development of physical, professional competences and scientific outlook, taking into account the integrated approach. A special role in this case is played by the teacher. It should help students to understand that the mechanical cogitation of ideas is not the most valuable, their own ideas are more meaningful, they need to exchange ideas and refrain from speedy judgments and the desire to make their own judgment about what is said by others. Thus, the teacher must have an art of communication that involves the ability to organize and conduct discussions without imposing his point of view, skillfully establish and maintain the emotional mood of the students; the ability to look at interesting topics for the introduction of scientific thinking and scientific outlook. As a result of our research and above, we note that the expediency of subordinating the contents of educational material in physics is based on fundamental concepts, one of which is symmetry. Students' familiarization and study of the notion of symmetry and its principles will contribute to the formation of a scientific outlook in the context of the development of STEM education. The study of the concept of symmetry helps in the formation of some features of the scientific outlook of students. The ideas of symmetry are used to form space and time, to establish their relationship with motion, to justify conservation laws, to identify causal links, and so on. This methodological significance of the study of the fundamental notion - symmetry makes it particularly valuable in the process of studying students in the course of physics. The article examines the influence of the concept of symmetry on the formation of the scientific worldview of subjects of learning in the conditions of development of STEM-education, as well as on their independent cognitive-search activity in higher educational institutions of technical profile. Prospects for further research are to develop a methodology for teaching physics in the context of the development of the concept of STEM education.
